Shipping policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
The short version: We roast to order, once a week. Your bag joins our next roast and ships within 1–2 business days of roast day. You'll get tracking when it leaves us. We currently ship to the contiguous United States. In the Austin area? Free local delivery on orders of $21 or more, right at checkout.
Where we ship
We ship across the contiguous United States (the lower 48). At this time we don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or internationally.
Processing time
We don't keep bags on a shelf. Orders are queued for our next weekly roast, and once roasted, we pack and hand to the carrier within 1–2 business days. That means a few extra days from order to doorstep versus off-the-shelf coffee — the trade we make on purpose. During launches, holidays, or limited drops, processing may take a little longer; we'll note it on the site if so.
Transit time and carriers
Once shipped, delivery typically takes 2–5 business days depending on your location. We ship via USPS and UPS. Transit times are the carrier's estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by weather, holidays, and carrier delays.
Shipping rates
Shipping is a flat $6 per order within the contiguous United States, and free on orders over $50. Your rate is shown at checkout before you pay.
Local delivery (Austin)
If you're in the Austin area, we'll hand-deliver instead of shipping — and it's free on orders of $21 or more (about one bag). Choose Local delivery at checkout; it shows up automatically when your address is inside our delivery area. Same cadence as shipping: your bag joins our next weekly roast and is delivered within the roast week.
Freshness — when to actually brew
Roast date isn't "drink immediately." Coffee needs to rest. For the first few days off roast it's still off-gassing CO₂, which makes it taste sharp and under-extracted no matter what you do.
For most of our roasts, the peak window lands somewhere between 1 and 4 weeks off roast, with espresso often shining closer to 3–5 weeks. After that, coffee is still very drinkable for several more weeks — we'd just prioritize getting through your bag inside about two months of the roast date.
So if your first cup tastes a little sharp, don't blame the coffee. Give it another few days and try again — that's usually all it needs.
Tracking
When your order ships, we'll email a tracking number. If you don't see it, check your spam folder or email us.
Delays, lost, and damaged packages
- Delays: If a package is moving slowly, give the carrier a little time — tracking usually catches up. Reach out if it stalls and we'll help chase it.
- Marked delivered but missing: Check around your delivery area and with neighbors/building staff first. If it's still missing, email us within 7 days and we'll work with you and the carrier.
- Damaged in transit: See our Refund Policy — send a photo within 7 days and we'll replace or refund it.
Wrong or incomplete addresses
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We're not responsible for orders sent to an address entered incorrectly, but we'll help where we can. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we'll reach out to arrange reshipment (reshipping costs may apply).
International orders
We don't ship internationally at this time. If that changes, we'll update this policy with customs, duties, and international transit details.
